Plus the fact that there are no parents or nok on CWGC I think you maybe correct, the information available just doesn't add up and the possible mic to Ethel Garner father enlisting in the Suffolk's, its so frustrating not to tie together
Nigel Marshall Posted 26 February , 2022 Share Posted 26 February , 2022 3 hours ago, George Rayner said: Just wish I could track the Hussars attestation! George Hello George, I tracked it by looking at service numbers around the 20053 Hussars number, and plotting the early service histories of the men whose records have survived, looking for patterns of movements from unit to unit. Pte Jones was in a batch of men who enlisted on 3rd September 1914, and went to 11th Reserve Cavalry Regiment at Tidworth. A batch of men were transferred from across the Reserve Cavalry Regiments to 3rd Suffolks on 2nd June 1915, that being the Reserve Battalion for the Regiment, and those men were distributed among Suffolk Regt Battalions which needed men. Pte Jones went to 2nd Bn. Cheers, Nigel

George Rayner Posted 27 February , 2022 Share Posted 27 February , 2022 Thanks to all for those helpful pieces. Don't suppose it's possible to have a better image of the will is it?
