Felix C Posted 21 February , 2022 Share Posted 21 February , 2022 (edited) I see Germany publicized notable airmen and naval officers. Not sure if land officers were so treated. Also the French did similar with airmen. Again not sure regarding other branches. Read where the RFC did not want to publicize and yet some were made public figures for propaganda purposes, Examples of Evans of the Broke; Nasmith and other submariners; airmen as in Albert Ball. Again not a land warfare reader so do not know if those men were revealed to the public, Is it correct to state it was typically frowned upon by the British? Any land warfare examples? Coldstreamer Posted 21 February , 2022 Share Posted 21 February , 2022 Plenty of examples in British newspapers so don’t see that it was frowned upon as so common
Felix C Posted 21 February , 2022 Author Share Posted 21 February , 2022 Good to know. I read the RFC did not wish to due to the effect on other personnel not involved in the specialty publicized, Pursuit pilots. Can you provide an example?
