Collyhurstkid Posted 20 February , 2022 Share Posted 20 February , 2022 I am struggling to find information on the whereabouts of 242 Brigade RFA in November 1917. I am searching for 193802 Gunner William Henry Balchin who was in 'A' battery of this brigade and who died from wounds sustained in battle on November 27 1917. I could only find a War Diary up to 1916. He is buried in Dozinghem Military Cemetery, Belgium. His service records have not survived. He is commemorated in the British Jewry Book of Honour. Any help greatly appreciated! Gary
charlie962 Posted 20 February , 2022 Share Posted 20 February , 2022 (edited) He was wounded 20/11/17 per the Bde War Diary. I'm sure it is on NatArchives somewhere but here it is in the RA Museum section of AMOT Army Museums Ogilby Trust. The diary pages this month are a bit out of order. "AMOT039_WW1_242ND.BRIGADE.RFA.PART.3_0271 | The Ogilby Muster" https://www.theogilbymuster.com/record/3914182 Charlie Ps once on that page go to the URL address at the top of your screen and advance the last digit by one to get the next page etc. Edited 20 February , 2022 by charlie962
