BabaAndrew Posted 18 February , 2022 Share Posted 18 February , 2022 Would anyone know where to find information on officers of the Royal Naval Armoured Car Division (RNACD), of the Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS)? I have been trying to find entries in Royal Navy lists for 1914-1915, but am so far not succeeding. I can find listings for RN vessels, but not sure where to look for RNACD. Any help appreciated! michaeldr Posted 18 February , 2022 Share Posted 18 February , 2022 Can you tell us who it is that you are looking for? Perhaps that may help solve this
horatio2 Posted 18 February , 2022 Share Posted 18 February , 2022 RNACD units (squadrons) do not appear as such in Navy Lists and the RNAS officers serving in the RNACD are usually listed elswhere (eg RNAS Eastchurch) as for "Special Service". However, to make your life easy, not all officers so listed are in the RNACD but on other 'special service' (unspecified).
TullochArd Posted 18 February , 2022 Share Posted 18 February , 2022 (edited) For starters this link will give you 28 23 RN all ranks, with about just under half-ish being officers, all with some sort of RNACD "Armoued Car" service. Russia features quite high which may be beyond your area of inquiry? Search for "armoured car" | Lives of the First World War (iwm.org.uk) Edited 18 February , 2022 by TullochArd

Also, which squadrons were in a hot climate - e.g. North Africa and the Middle East. Edited 18 February , 2022 by BabaAndrew

Keith_history_buff Posted 18 February , 2022 Share Posted 18 February , 2022 Getting a copy of Bryan Perrett's book on the subject is likely to assist you in this endeavour https://www.abebooks.co.uk/book-search/title/the-czar's-british-squadron/author/perrett-bryan-lord-anthony/ A trip to Leeds could be fruitfulhttps://archiveshub.jisc.ac.uk/search/archives/ea805128-4734-3436-881e-2bf4fc453b9d
