Louise22 Posted 18 February , 2022 Share Posted 18 February , 2022 Also this I would love to know more about this and if it could be of use in a museum or somewhere?
Chasemuseum Posted 18 February , 2022 Share Posted 18 February , 2022 This is the standard British "Brodie" helmet manufactured during WW2. This example was manufactured and painted at the factory for issue to an air raid warden (ARP). These are relatively common. Cheers Ross
peregrinvs Posted 18 February , 2022 Share Posted 18 February , 2022 It’s a MK2 helmet with a Mk1 liner. They were manufactured from the late 1930’s onwards. As mentioned, the black paint scheme denotes it was for Civil Defence use and the ‘W’ denotes it was for an Air Raid Precautions (ARP) Warden. As mentioned, quite common in the UK. I’m afraid the condition precludes it from being valuable.
