I'm wanting any info on Hopoutre station, commonly called 'Hop-oot-ere' which was the final stop from Le Havre before the march to Poperinghe. My Grandad was in the RGA ( 60 pounders) which the train would have transported troops, Horses and Guns. Any info on the type/size of train, maybe names.

@Derek Tickner Hi Derek,

Here is Hopoutre, just SW of Poperinghe, courtesy of an  IWM / WFA railway map.  Click to enlarge, so that you get an idea of the rail gauge and type of administrative facilities in the immediate area.  Seems to be an ordnance workshop (light) and a lorry park there as well as a double track broad gauge and single track.
