SMG65 Posted 2 February , 2022 Share Posted 2 February , 2022 I am looking into Pte 5026 Robert Ernest Eaton, 8 West Yorkshire Regiment, Killed in Action 03/09/16. I have the details of the pension his mother received, SDGW details and can research the action he was killed in, but I cannot fond a Medal Card for him? Any suggestions? Admin Michelle Young Posted 2 February , 2022 Admin Share Posted 2 February , 2022 Are you looking at Ancestry or National Archives? Some of the cards were very badly damaged by rodents so might not be scanned on Ancestry.
clk Posted 2 February , 2022 Share Posted 2 February , 2022 Hi Sean, I didn't see it either (Ancestry or FMP transcription). Would the medal roll do as an alternative? Image sourced from Ancestry Regards Chris
tootrock Posted 2 February , 2022 Share Posted 2 February , 2022 (edited) His name appears in the West Yorkshire Regiment Medal Awards Roll, so it may have been lost or inadvertently destroyed. Martin Edit - see clk entry above. Edited 2 February , 2022 by tootrock
SMG65 Posted 2 February , 2022 Author Share Posted 2 February , 2022 Thank you for your help. I was looking on the National Archives. I wonder how many others are 'lost' Sean
