'Ello frev!

I'm not hit that hard, just coughing alot, headaches and so on. The problem is that I had the first days back at school this week, so I'm missing out alot.

473 George ARNOLD

1130 Robert Tait ADAMS

4405 Charles FACER

Just out of curiosity, how many people with the surname 'Adams' are on your list? They seem to number quite high.

Many thanks as always Tank - from the above I only have ADAMS, ARNOLD & SMITH - all the rest are new.

As to the number with the surname ADAMS - nowhere as many as some others, (eg. SMITH) - but there are 24 so far...

Cheers, Frev

Hi Frev

This thread has been going for a while now. How many names are on the list? It seems a lot more than I for one would have expected

Hi Greg

The database at present only contains 4,446 service personnel.  There are still many, many more to find - as according to various sources, it's estimated over 13,000 married O/S before returning home.  It's a long running project that these days mostly only gets updated when I or others in the know come across marriages during other research projects.

Cheers, Frev

Hi Frev,

I didn't realise there were 13,000 names to find!

Do you have 265 Cpl John Nolan? His Marriage Cert is included in his record at NAA.

Sorry about the delay in replying Steve...

I have Norman as marrying Emmeline/Emiline Florence Violet Smith in the Dec Qtr 1919 at Warminster, Wiltshire - they traveled to Aus together on the Bahia Castillo in 1920, and were living in Fitzroy in 1922.

He remarried in 1932, but I don't have details of whether a death or divorce had occurred.  May look into it again one day!

Hope you had a great Christmas

Cheers, Frev

Many thanks, but yes, I do have Nolan in the database.

It seems he married in Scotland, but I'm afraid I don't have access to the Scottish records...
