BarbaraG Posted 6 January , 2022 Posted 6 January , 2022 (edited) Arthur was born in Scotland but emigrates (?) and was serving with the Canadian Infantry Bn. Wondering if it was unusual for him to have an MIC, which I have been attempting to decipher. Any help appreciated, thank you. Edited 7 January , 2022 by BarbaraG
Cheshire22 Posted 6 January , 2022 Posted 6 January , 2022 So it looks like he was a Lance Corporal in the 16th Canadian Infantry Battalion and landed in France in 1915 to get the 14/15 star. then later was commissioned into the Highland Light infantry as a Lieutenant a duplicate issue of the medals and a lot of other stuff, which has been lost in time. I suspect that you have already looked for his Canadian service papers

Army’ which I thought would possible be Imperial Army (?). My spelling error Barry now correct thank you. Particularly interesting to see his grave. Appreciate the L.G. Reference Ken. Will have a closer look at the Canadian Papers Barry & Regimental Rogue. Since researching my great uncle who served with CEF and having found his Canadian Papers - never quite understood how to discover whether he would have had a similar MIC. Sincere thanks for all your help and guidance. Barbara Edited 7 January , 2022 by BarbaraG
