trajan Posted 6 January , 2022 Posted 6 January , 2022 A starting point would be: http://wiki-de.genealogy.net/Schw.MW_Zug_703 But there is not a lot, it seems. Trajan
Rafal1971 Posted 6 January , 2022 Author Posted 6 January , 2022 Thanx So, 48 is the number of weapon? Best Rafal
AndyBsk Posted 6 January , 2022 Posted 6 January , 2022 (edited) Yes as mentioned by Julian, this Schwere MW Zug 703 could be start unit, later joined into MW Company nr.320 in 1916. The stamp 42 could be inventory number or Zug number 42. Edited 6 January , 2022 by AndyBsk
Rafal1971 Posted 6 January , 2022 Author Posted 6 January , 2022 MW Trupp 703 – GenWiki (genealogy.net) ?
AndyBsk Posted 6 January , 2022 Posted 6 January , 2022 Question is how is the bayonet dated, but personally would be sceptical that the equipment returned from Palestina or Turkey.
Rafal1971 Posted 6 January , 2022 Author Posted 6 January , 2022 Producer - ERFURT and GEBR. HARTKOPF SOLINGEN. There is no production year on the back. Rafal
AndyBsk Posted 6 January , 2022 Posted 6 January , 2022 (edited) So the piece is 1915, as Erfurt didnt made any bayonets in 1916. Hartkopf is a deliverer of blade blanks and finisher was Erfurt royal armory. Edited 6 January , 2022 by AndyBsk
Rafal1971 Posted 6 January , 2022 Author Posted 6 January , 2022 Sorry, I made mistake. Producer to only Hartkopf and year on back is 1916 Rafal

Rafal1971 Posted 7 January , 2022 Author Posted 7 January , 2022 The 13th army corps was formed by Wirtenbergia. And the last number because 2 ... do I recognize it? Colleagues provided the source: Schw.MW Zug 703 – GenWiki (genealogy.net) And Wirtenbergia with 2 at the beginning Württ. MWK 27 – GenWiki (genealogy.net) Württ. MWK 26 – GenWiki (genealogy.net) and the other
AndyBsk Posted 7 January , 2022 Posted 7 January , 2022 (edited) There is 25 or 26 in back of XIII Wurttemberg Armee Corps. S98/05 piece. the link of MW703 was added already by Julian in second answer. Edited 7 January , 2022 by AndyBsk
AndyBsk Posted 7 January , 2022 Posted 7 January , 2022 Should be asked Demitrios as this is his piece, the unit is stamped over filed surface, so there was other units in previous life, we dont see other side is there or not any assembly numbers inside of the unit? When not so its a depot piece assigned to unit only, by building the unit in war period. Demitrios has the other side picture i assume.
