JohnC Posted 11 December , 2021 Share Posted 11 December , 2021 I am trying to find details of a bombing raid by No 2 Squadron on the 17th or 18th of August, 1918. Their targets were the railway lines in the area of Le Cateau - Busigny - Wassigny, or the station at Busigny. I can’t find the squadron’s war diary in TNA. I’m trying to find the names of the crews, confirmation of the date and the raid’s outcome. Is there anyone who can help me with this please? TIA, John
tootrock Posted 11 December , 2021 Share Posted 11 December , 2021 By August 1918 they would presumably have been RAF rather than RFC. Martin
hmsk212 Posted 11 December , 2021 Share Posted 11 December , 2021 You will probably find what you need to know here :- Record book: 2 Squadron. | The National Archives however, you will need to go to the National Archives at Kew to access the records. JohnC Posted 12 December , 2021 Author Share Posted 12 December , 2021 Thank you both. Yes, RAF, my mistake. I will follow up on the TNA lead. J
