92100 Private Alfred Maddison - Tank Corps

Looking to see if anyone has any information on 92100 Private Alfred Maddison who appears to have been from Lincoln. A friend has just purchased his Victory Medal on a well known auction website.
His Medal Roll entry suggests he served with 8th Battalion, but his serial number appears to have been issued around January 1917 (Based on information on the Army Service Numbers website), so he may have originally served with 'H' Battalion.
Ancestry, FMP and Forces War Records have not turned up anything over his Medal Roll and MIC, other than that he was wrongly reported as wounded on 7 January 1918, which was corrected on 27 February 1918. He does not have a pension record on the WFA Pension Records, nor does he appear to have been a fatality.
A possibility is Alfred Maddison born at Lincoln on 4 January 1884 and who died at Lincoln on 28 January 1952. He was the son of John Barnabas and Mary Jane Maddison.

Hi, the medal roll shows he was in 8th Bn, which was called H Bn until the letters were changed to numbers in Jan 1918. If you haven't already done so you could check the War Diary for 8th Tank Bn, which I believe is still free to download from the National Archives website. If you're lucky this may have a casualty list, but will at least confirm the battalion's actions at that time.

All the best John
