18th Hussars in Egypt - July 1915

My relative Joseph Warren relative is buried at the Chatby War Memorial Cemetery, Alexandria, Egypt having died in July 1915 of Enteric Fever (Typhoid).  His regiment is given as 18th Hussars.  As far as I can tell, the regiment fought in Europe throughout the war.  Joseph is the only Hussar in the cemetery and one of only two hussars buried in Egypt.  Can anyone suggest what he might have been doing there?

Joseph’s Medal Roll entry records ‘18th Hussars attached GHQ General Force’ although the latter is struck through.

Though it does not take this search very much further, the struck out words are in fact Attd GHQ Central [not General] Force

NB: Guess-work here – was Central Force an alternative name for the middle section of the Suez Canal's defences in early 1915?                                                                        This is more usually referred to as Section 2: Deversoir to El Ferdan

It dosn't answer your question, but may help somewhere along the line, that his 14/15 Star Medal Roll/Index Card gives disembarkation date for Egypt as "3.4.15"
