Spanky Posted 9 October , 2021 Share Posted 9 October , 2021 I have inherited the above Imperial luger. It is engraved with the unit "12.T.S.3.129" I believe this to be a train or transport unit but have not been able to confirm or determine the exact translation. I realize this is a WWI forum but, I'm hoping someone can give me further information or point me in the right direction. Thank you for any assistance you might provide. shippingsteel Posted 9 October , 2021 Share Posted 9 October , 2021 (edited) I believe the Unit marking stands for Koniglich Sachsisches Train-Abteilung Nr.12 , 3.Sanitats-Kompagnie, weapon number 129. So the handgun was issued to a Saxon Train (Support) unit that undertook Medical and First-Aid duties in the field. AndyBsk Posted 9 October , 2021 Share Posted 9 October , 2021 I would think the deciphering is correct, sometimes are the Sanitaets Companie in prewar period declared as Detachements.
Spanky Posted 9 October , 2021 Author Share Posted 9 October , 2021 Thank you so much Shippingsteel and AndyBsk for your incredibly fast response. I inherited this luger as well as about 10 others, all made between 1900 and 1942. All are between 90-99% are highly collectible and several are very rare. So again, I appreciate the information and look forward to researching the others for eventual sale, though I hate parting with them! CHEERS! Spanky Posted 12 October , 2021 Author Share Posted 12 October , 2021 Unfortunately I live in the U.S. But, if I did live in the U.K. we would certainly discuss. Thank you for your interest. Respectfully, Steve.
