Remembered Today:

Thomas For[e]man: Will additions and changes. Can anyone please make sense of them?

This is the signature section of the soldier's will of Pte. Thomas Foreman, Black Watch.

He was previously 1449, 5 Black Watch and 6941, 1/7 Black Watch. I have worked out a bit more but would rather not prejudice/influence colleague's suggestion about what appears above.

I have attached the signature section of Thomas Foreman's soldier's will. It has obviously been changed and/or added to.

1. Can anyone make out what is written between the 5 and 1/7?

2. Has the serial number been added later?

3. Is 1/7 in a different script? (Written by someone else?)

Thank you

RM

I have just noticed something else odd about this will:

The section about his money is fine, but the section about the remainder of his property is incomplete. He had five brothers - all alive in 1911. (Surely the name before the address is "Mrs Foreman"?)
