Ollie77 Posted 30 September , 2021 Share Posted 30 September , 2021 Hello all, I have recently bought this item which was listed as a ww1 runners carrying case but I'm unsure of its legitimacy, any help appreciated.
museumtom Posted 30 September , 2021 Share Posted 30 September , 2021 I would look for the broad arrow or WD stamp.

Gunner Bailey Posted 2 October , 2021 Share Posted 2 October , 2021 I'd say its far to big for a runner to use. Looks to me like map case as would be used at a regimental HQ or similar.

It was used to store spare maps safely for those massive Cold War standbys and movement exercises in Germany (Active Edge, Iron this and that, etc.) Edited 3 October , 2021 by TullochArd spelling ......
