if a soldiers Tf number was changed to 6 digit number on renumbering, what number would be on medal?

Thanks Russ. I thought that. But then I thought after he had been renumbered his old number would cease ton exist?

As Russ has already said, it would be the original number - the naming conventions for the BWM and VM for most units were as follows, and the only key difference for the 1914 and 1914-15 Stars was they were supposed to stick with the original rank on becoming entitled (and not the highest attained):

Makes you wonder how much correspondence they had to deal with regarding disgruntled Guardsmen, Riflemen and Kingmen.
