Bob Chandler Posted 18 September , 2021 Share Posted 18 September , 2021 I'm sure we're all familiar with the pre-printed cards addressed to ex-servicemen after the war, thanking them for their service. They tend to just have the name of the man and possibly also their regiment hand-written in the appropriate space. Were there communities who sent such cards to men who had no specific connection with them, a bit like the way people sometimes wrote to a man in the front line in WW2 who they didn't know but whose details they were given so they could have a letter from home? I'm trying to solve a family puzzle for a friend.
