Resurgam13 Posted 10 September , 2021 Share Posted 10 September , 2021 I think Simon may be inquiring about the War Book compiled or overseen by Maurice Hankey, in which case, I don't believe it was ever publicly available.
Simon Birch Posted 12 September , 2021 Author Share Posted 12 September , 2021 Thanks Resurgam - if you don't ask the question you will never know. Thanks Again, Simon
Ron Clifton Posted 12 September , 2021 Share Posted 12 September , 2021 Simon, Each department had its own War Book, and there was a master edition prepared under Hankey's direction. I am sure that there is a copy somewhere in the CAB classes at Kew, but I can't currently find the exact reference. If I can find it, I will re-post. QUEX Posted 12 September , 2021 Share Posted 12 September , 2021 The 1914 War Book for the War Office - i.e. how the WO itself was supposed to transition to war - is at WO33/688.
