Does anyone know if there has ever been a copy of the above - the book laying down what to do in case of was with ....

If so it it still possible to get a copy?

I think Simon may be inquiring about the War Book compiled or overseen by Maurice Hankey, in which case, I don't believe it was ever publicly available.

Simon,

Each department had its own War Book, and there was a master edition prepared under Hankey's direction. I am sure that there is a copy somewhere in the CAB classes at Kew, but I can't currently find the exact reference. If I can find it, I will re-post.

The 1914 War Book for the War Office - i.e. how the WO itself was supposed to transition to war - is at WO33/688.

The overall War Book for 1914 is in CAB15/5.
