This is the 1916 Christmas card of Le Cantine Anglais, Le Bourget.

Was this a cafe or connected with the RFC pilots (and presumably technicians) then being trained on Nieuports at Le Bourget?

Any information about this establishment gratefully received.

thanks,

I know nothing about French uniforms but these men don't look like fliers to me. My first thought was that they may be recovering wounded (hence the nursing staff) displaying dolls made by them as part of therapy. Oddly the man seated far right has neither puttees nor boot laces. An intriguing picture.
