Skipman Posted 9 August , 2021 Share Posted 9 August , 2021 Can anyone help with a WO Ref number for the diary of the 13th Black Watch from October 1916 to June 1918. This covers the period from their inception through Salonika up to the point they moved to France. Are Salonika diaries available in a digitised format from the National Archives at Kew, or is it a case of having to photograph each page? Derek Black Posted 10 August , 2021 Share Posted 10 August , 2021 Go on. Request a quote for a copy. See how many hundreds of pounds they ask for. It's incredible that there's still war diaries not digitised. Derek.

They charge a 'Search Fee' first, to estimate the number of pages. Since this is the 81st Infantry Division Diary: It includes: 1 Battalion Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders (1915 Nov - 1918 Nov). 1 Battalion The Royal Scots (1915 Nov - 1919 Apr). 2 Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment (1915 Nov - 1916 Oct). 7 Battalion Royal Berkshire Regiment (1919 May - Oct). 8 Battalion Royal Scots Fusiliers (1919 May - Sept). 13 Battalion Black Watch (Royal Highlanders) (1916 Oct - 1918 June) This request would be extremely expensive. Mike Well yes, but you only want the WD part for the 13th BW. TNA will 'estimate' for the complete contents of WO95/4892... And, the 'Search Fee' is non-refundable, so more money will be lost. Tom.
