David_Blanchard Posted 8 August , 2021 Share Posted 8 August , 2021 I am looking for the name of a restaurant (S) on the Rue de Lille in Ypres, early 1915. I found mention of a restaurant in two books- it may be the same one. The first mention is from ‘Edith Wharton and Mary Roberts Rinehart at the Western Front 1915.’ I enclose extract from February 1915- which mentions a restaurant “In de Hemel” ran by a female proprietress. The second extract is from Norman Ellison’s ‘Remembrances of Hell’ he visited this restaurant on the Rue de Lille in April 1915- this time with two female owners. Any help with the name(s) of the restaurant appreciated. David
