What is the 'disability', is it scabies?

Can you fill in the missing words?

He contracted a severe attack of the above ???? on his scalp & face ????? in France. He is improving but is not fit for any duty yet. The board recommends he remains at No 1 ??? Exeter for another month.

I am not an expert but I think it reads No.1 VAH Exeter, which is probably No.1 Volunteer Auxiliary Hospital, see here :

Eek! thank you Charlie, never heard of it

Neither had I.
I agree with BillyH re No.1 VAH Exeter.

The missing words are disease and whilst.

1 VAH was the West of England Eye Infirmary, now the Hotel du Vin.

Tried to do a Streetview but failed.

Mike,

Your link opens up a view of the building opposite. The hospital is a three story brick structure.

Try this.
