Bordercollie Posted 4 August , 2021 Share Posted 4 August , 2021 His regimental number changed each time he was transferred to a different regiment or corps. His history is a little clearer on the medal roll. It seems he transferred to a Railway Company RE for a spell and that is where he collected the third number on the MIC. Perhaps he had some railway experience before enlisting. Medal roll image courtesy of Ancestry

AndrewSid Posted 6 August , 2021 Share Posted 6 August , 2021 For context tell you’re friend that moving units was very common. Ive yet to find a family member (about 10 researched) that had one service number. My record is 5!
