Uniform Buttons

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows if these are buttons from a military uniform?  Looks like a compass with a magnet, not sure if they have any meaning or if it's just a design.

Thanks

Shaun

It’s not any button that I recognise and they are a very specialised area.  I recommend you join the following website and post your inquiry there: https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=38

It's a uniform button of the British Electric Traction Company Limited. They operated a large number of tramway systems across the UK. The button appears to be chrome -plated which dates it to the  mid-1930s onwards.      Pete.
