Hi all

Would be grateful for people views on this the dimensions seem ok, I’m curious what would cause the wear visible under the bottom loop in picture 3

Thanks

Jim

Looks absolutely spot-on to me Jim.

The wear/marks to the back of the frog, underneath the loops, can result from repeated removal and refitting of the scabbard. The frogs are a tight fit and the raised seam of the scabbard sometimes leaves a mark, especially when coated with black polish - if that's what you're referring to ?

Thanks for that, it does seem to conform with the examples on there, I also thought the wear inside was a bit odd I wondered if a different bayonet had been in at some time!

Thanks Pete,

The wear is  quite pronounced inside the loop at the rear is horizontal line approximately 1/4" x 1", just seemed a bit odd.

Cheers
