Steve1871 Posted 30 July , 2021 Posted 30 July , 2021 I do not want to seen bad, but could you say, find a table/floor space by a window for some natural light, the photos are a wee bit dark, no offense, details are always better. An overall group pic and another with bayonets showing the muzzles would be great. Some collectors only collect bayonets or just rifles or only helmets. How broad is your interest?
Steve1871 Posted 30 July , 2021 Posted 30 July , 2021 The 1903? Bandoleer, is it the common one with the back strap open center or the rarer solid back strap? Dated? Details always interest fellow collectors
Mickster Posted 30 July , 2021 Author Posted 30 July , 2021 Hi Steve, The 1903 bandoleer made by S.Clarke & co dated 1914. I guess its open backstrap as both ends join a brass triangle link with a further strap to secure to waist belt. I have another similar made by W.B. & CO LTD Dated either 1915 or 1918

Rifles mainly Steve & carbines but I do like to have one bayonet covering my collection of say SMLEs or my P14s or Carcanos etc. However should a bayo turn up at the right price and condition to match a particular rifle & manufacturer I want it. As for helmets, one per army unless there are distinct appearance differences. Mickster
Steve1871 Posted 30 July , 2021 Posted 30 July , 2021 (edited) Well Mickster, if you (JUST) want say One each Enfields and Carcanos ( would have to branch into Mannlicher), then all you would need would be about 60-70 rifles and carbines, and their bayonets of coarse, scatter a few helmets about and your set! Ahhh, The wonderfully addictive Collector Bug, once bitten!😊 Edited 30 July , 2021 by Steve1871
Mickster Posted 30 July , 2021 Author Posted 30 July , 2021 Yes Steve After the wife leaves you because her wardrobe is full of Springfields and the authorities take your kids because they smell of cosmoline you sit down and think "Was all this worth it" ? Then you think,, "Did they make a sniper version of all these rifles" ? Hell yeah Mickster
