But did not 2nd Rifle Brigade move to India from Egypt in November 1905.

Kuldana is where they happened to be stationed at the outbreak of war.

2nd RB came down from Kuldana to West Ridge in November 1913. The summer was spent much like most summers in India in the Murree Hills, Company training.

By July 1914 the 2nd RB had news that they were to sail in the Dongola for England and Colchester about 29th October.

On the evening of the Regimental birthday 25th August a wire was received from Simla "Direct Second Rifle Brigade to prepare at once for embarkation to England at very early date" frantic activity ensued as the move was to be on peace scale bringing all the families with them.

They were delayed in Kuldana for 2 weeks when on 1st September they got a telegram to move at once to be in Bombay no later than the 8th. They left Kuldana early morning of 2nd marching to Tret then to Barakoa and finally reached Pindi at 6am on the 6th. They caught a train at Pindi but arrived in Bombay early, but were embarked on the S.S. Somali on the 9th. The journey took a long time as they had to anchor outside of Bombay for 10 days waiting for their escort and the rest of the convoy to form.

At long last on 20th September at 11am the convoy weighed anchor and sailed.

Re dates, they were in

Cairo moving to Khartoum in 1905, 1906

Chaubattia in 1906, 07, 08, 09.

Calcutta 1910, 11

Rawalpindi 1912 & 13

As he enlisted in December 1907 he would have been sent to join the 2nd after training in the UK.

If you need anymore let me know.
