87th training reserve BN TR5/70495 PTE O Boon

Looking for information regarding PTE Boon whos MIC shows very little information apart from SWB list 0/5301/1 there is a chance 

he was injured in training and then discharged but alas no dates on enlistment and discharge his MIC is attached , any information anyone

can provide would be most appreciated

See Ancestry for his SWB record, enlisted  9 6 1917, discharged sickness (which would  cover injury perhaps) 6 10 1917 .  See also pension record on Fold 3 which I don't have access to.

Disability: Dilation of Stomach [I can't comment on possible causation]

Born: 1898

Address: 299  Uttoxeter Rd, Normacot, Longton, Staffs

Discharged: 6-10-17

Pension of: 5/6 pw from 4.6.18 to 3.12.18 [equivalent to 20% disability] - then 12/- [30%] 2/6/20 to 30/11/20, then 5/- pw [20%] from 1/12/20 to 29/11/21

1/11/21 No grounds for further award. 30/1/22 Appeal to PAT disallowed [Pension Awards Tribunal]

Shows SWB badge no. 486275 and that he was 18 years old on discharge and had not served overseas

Seems Olivers army career didnt go so well and how strange that the medical board paid him for 4 years then stopped.

It was very common. Once disability dropped below a 20% level of disability the pension would cease.
