Hi Everyone,

I have sought help on this site before and you came up trumps so I’m hoping you can do it again!

My great great uncle William George Watson emigrated to Australia in 1912 but joined the 42nd battalion of the AIF and came back to fight in WW1. He died on 24.4.1918 at Villers-Bretonneux. I have found the war diary entry for that day on The Australian War Memorial site (ref RCDIG1005057) but there is one word I can’t read (see below). The sentence reads ‘At 10pm the 13th & 15th Brigades AIF counter attacked from the ??? at Villers Bretonneux and succeeded in recapturing all the ground previously lost by the Buffs securing in all 19 officers and 804 OR as prisoners.”
Can anyone help?

Many thanks, Linda
