The address for those that have not been there is: http://thestar.pagesofthepast.ca/Default.asp I have some examples of what you can get relative to WW1 as I have used the archives to extract stories and pictures about my research on Vimy and Laughton. These are on the Family Tree site for G. V. Laughton at the bottom of this page: http://www.censol.ca/research/familytree/eras/george1897.htm I found it best to be able to download the page you are looking for and then to use a software program (such as PaperPort) to refine the quality. There are a number of newspapers from cities and towns from all over Alberta - for example I've found numerous interesting articles in the Morning Albertan (from Calgary). From the start of the First World War, CEF units were required to maintain a daily account of their “Actions in the Field.” This log was called a War Diary.
