Crown looks post 1952.

Has the look of 'Post Office' about it.

Yes I remember seeing postmen wearing that badge on a dark blue peaked forage cap in the 1960s.  Very different to the hatless, shorts and training shoes dress of today!

Ours wears a New York Yankees baseball cap. All sense of formaility has long since disappaeared.
