Chaos Posted 15 July , 2021 Posted 15 July , 2021 I need help on a primer manufacturer on this Canadian cartridge Company cartridge case from 1917. Primer is marked M.S.S but the M looks almost like it is overstamping a B(?) beneath it (an error?). I have no BSS or MSS for 1917 primers or any manufacturers. Any help appreciated

Any help appreciated No.1 MkIII primer made in August 1917 by Melotte Separator Sales Co., Bristol - you can find out more about the company from an online search. It was filled just up the road in November 1917 at NFF No.5, Gloucester. Not sure about the letter overstamped on the M of MSS - might be an inspection stamp but I can't make it out. 265
