BillyH Posted 14 July , 2021 Posted 14 July , 2021 Slightly of topic, but a soldier of the Great War that I am researching had a (previous) HLI number of 6253. Paul Nixon's excellent website suggests that this number was issued Dec.1896 - Mar.1897. Can anyone find the soldiers surname? (I cannot find any service or pension records on Ancestry). BillyH.

BillyH Posted 14 July , 2021 Author Posted 14 July , 2021 That was quick Craig!, but it's not the man I was hoping for. He was English. BillyH.

Hardly anything, but I was hoping for a surname of Wilbraham. I didn't mention it because I had searched for that name myself and was considering the possibility that it may have been wrong. BillyH.
