7th Bn Cameronians (Scottish Rifles)

Hi Pals

 

Looking for the war diary for this Battalion for the year of 1916. Full war service would be a bonus.

Looked on NA and there is none.

Tried Ancestry - None

Did the usual search in here the GWF - not been able to find any

Or is it only available from https://www.sllccameronians.co.uk/

National Archives have the 52nd Div HQ War Diaries 1916 , JUL - AUG WO 95/2009/5. SEPT - DEC WO 95/2009/6 if any help

Im doing a few stories on men from the 7th Battalion needed to have a look at the War Diary. Ill contact the Museum Centre see if they can help and in the meantime ill download those files.

Hello James,

21 May 1915 to 19th Jan 1916
WO 95/4321: 52 Div, 156 Bde: ONLY available on Ancestry (spit).

1 July 1915 to 21 Feb 1916: 
7th and 8th Battalions formed a 'Composite Battalion - 7/8th
They reverted back to 7th Bn on 21 Feb 1916.

01 Jan 1916 to 31 Mar 1916
WO 95/4610: 52 Div, 156 Bde: TNA NOT yet digitised and NOT available for download.

01 Apr 1918 to 31 Mar 1919:
WO 95/2897/4: 52 Div, 156 Bde: TNA available for download.

GWF member Barrie Duncan is a volunteer at the Museum.

The Cameronian Museum - Low Parks - Hamilton Lanarkshire (cameronians.org)

He is the resident GWF guru on ALL things Cameronians (Scottish Rifles).
