Unidentified ORs 'Wolseley' FS Helmet patch/'flash'

Hello all,

I'm attempting to identify the patch/flash on an Other Ranks' Wolseley that a friend has recently purchased. So far I've drawn a blank - can anyone offer any ideas? The chinstrap is marked to 'T.J. Weeks & Sons Ltd, 1916.'

Thanks,

Chris

It’s usually possible to work out what it might be if British and not Dominion, via the ribbon charts at this link: http://www.frontiernet.net/~ericbush/MiSh/Regt.html

The colours appear to be buff, navy blue (or black?) and crimson/red.

It looks to me as if it probably isn’t British.  Perhaps a British-Indian Army unit, and worn only by the European officers.

Many thanks, Frogsmile!

That ribbon chart is a great resource for potentially deciphering obscure helmet/puggaree flashes! Cheers for the link!

The research continues!
