RBau Posted 13 June , 2021 Share Posted 13 June , 2021 It looks like the silver part isn't part of the casing. It may be soldered together, so perhaps some carefully applied heat may help separate them, assuming the casing is empty.
Jim Strawbridge Posted 13 June , 2021 Share Posted 13 June , 2021 My suggestion is to firstly put a drop of WD40 around the join, leave for a couple of minutes then put a cloth around the silver part (to stop any scratch marks, and use pliers to gently grip, turn and pull gently outwards. T8HANTS Posted 13 June , 2021 Share Posted 13 June , 2021 warm them with boiling water, the differeence in the expansion rates of the metals should start to crack the seal. Hold by the rim plunge into boiling water wait about 45 secs, plunge into ice water, repeat till there is movment, do not force.
