Remembered Today:

Jean Joseph Marie Ferdinand Giele

Recommended Posts

Can anyone point me in the direction of the Belgian equivalent of the CWGC.  I am find more information about Jean Joseph Marie Ferdinand Giele.  Jean Joseph Marie Ferdinand Giele (1894-1917) - Find A Grave Memorial  I am trying to establish if this is the same Jean Giele whe resigned from Ordnance Survey in Nov 1914 to join the Belgian army.

Previously I have posted about Jacques Jean Giele.

I hope I am not trying to connect people with the Belgian equivalent of the name John Smith. :(

Thank you Luc  It looks like this is the same man.

The Ordnance Survey record.

From 'the names list'  Date of Birth 21 May 1894, Date of enlistment 8 November 1914, Profession 'tekenaar' Draughtsman.

I think this is enough to add Jean to my Ordnance Survey Memorial. We will remember them.

The MIC must relate to a diferent person.
