The Great War (1914-1918) Forum

Remembered Today:

Having gained brilliant information about my ancestors in WW1 from the forum i wish to be able to go back in time to the napoleonic war period

My 3 times great grandfather was born 1778/9 in Bristol according to ships muster rolls but after 27 years of trying i still cannot track him down .

First traced 28/01/1803 HMS Culloden as ordinary seaman described as volunteer from Revolutionnaire .

16/11/1803 to 23/03/1804 RN Hospital Stonehouse .

HMS Goliath 01/03/1804 to 22/05/1805 .

HMS Foudroyant 22/05/1805 to 01/12/1812 .

HMS Hotspur 01/12/1812 to 22/11/1815 .

After this period he was occasionally working as a fisherman on the Barbican Plymouth before he passed away in 1831 and interred in Charles Church Plymouth aged 53 .

i would love to trace him before 1803 and find his baptism as although i have found other William Phipps its not my one

Kind Regards

I'm sorry Alan but this is a Great War Forum, as it says on the tin, therefore I am locking this thread.
