"Year" on an English public school war memorial. Arrival year (session) or last year (session)?

A man I am researching is listed on the Repton School war memorial. He is listed under 1910. He was still there at the time of the 1911 Census (aged 15).

 

Was 1910-11 his last session or when he arrived? According to another source he was also at St Bees (Bee's?) but it does not say which school he attended first.

That's brilliant. The Repton Register not only gives me his "year(s)" - he was at Repton from April 1910 to April 1911, but also gives me more details of his military career.
