Hi, A very interesting thread. Members have shared much knowledge with you. As your grandfather enlisted in 1910 for 12 years service (7 years colour service and 5 years reserve service) as a regular soldier he was likely still on the reserve when the 7 digit army service number sequence was introduced in 1921. UK MOD will likely still hold some papers for him. The enquiry costs £30. Good Luck Steve

MGuest Posted 12 May , 2021 Author Share Posted 12 May , 2021 George Rayner museumtom This is great information. He lived at no. 12 Grange Terrace not 11. His parents were Thomas Guest and Elizabeth Young, but she died in 1891 and Thomas Guest remarried to Amelia Goode. tullybrone Thank you for this information, I will look up the MOD and download a form to get his records. I hope its not that complicated to fill in.
museumtom Posted 12 May , 2021 Share Posted 12 May , 2021 Oops....here is No 12. Also a brown door. The house next door, No 13, (blue door), lived James Wall who died in WW1 serving with the Merchant Navy.
