Interesting documentary on BBC 4 tonight - Great War Horses 23.35 pm 29/04/21.

 

The storey of the Australian Light Horse in Egypt and Palestine.

Had my eye on recording that because it was on so late, but forgot until it was already 20 minutes in think I will watch the first 20 minutes on catch-up and then switch to the recorded version!  (I know I could watch it all on catch-up, but we have a weird thing where the sound sometimes disappears).

What I liked about this programme was that it was made by Australians and the historians/commentators were also Australian.

Very interesting, including a quick reference to the involvement of Major A.B. Paterson, 2nd Remount Unit.
