markw94 Posted 27 April , 2021 Share Posted 27 April , 2021 I'm currently trying to do some research for a friend of mine on one of her relatives that served with the 12th DLI, B company in Italy and was KIA on the 27th of October 1918. I have his service record and I know the loction of where he's burried, but im curious if anyone can help fill in some gaps regarding areas he wouldve served (from what I understand the company went to Italy not long after he joined in mid October 1917) and possibly help narrow down where he died. I understand this date falls during the Battle of Vittorio Veneto but I cant find any trench maps for this area at the time. Im also curious if the 12th DLI have a war diary for there time in italy, the only diary I can find only covers there time in France.

You may perhaps find some content in 68 Inf Bde. WD Nov 1917 - Feb 1919 http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C4557389 :-) M
