rolt968 Posted 15 April , 2021 Share Posted 15 April , 2021 1. 2. 3. I think I have got the hang of 1 and 2. He was captured at Fresnoy on 21 March 1918. He died of a lung infection (influenza?) at Bethel (where he is buried) on 1 August 1918. The third entry relates to an unknown F Kirkland. I can't make anything of what appears on the right hand side. Can anyone help please? RM
charlie2 Posted 15 April , 2021 Share Posted 15 April , 2021 1 & 2 are OK. 3. Rank and Unit unknown, no further information, died, buried 23-25.3.1918 between Queant and Buisey. Reported by S.D.Z.N ( a new one on me but I think it is Section S of the ZNB - the Central Information Office in Berlin) on 5.2.1919. ( on ID Disc - C.E.N.D. 76200). easier to see here https://grandeguerre.icrc.org/en/File/Zoom/E/04/01/C_G1_E_04_01_0215/C_G1_E_04_01_0215_0014.JPG/4 Charlie

That's excellent. I might look and see if Arthur George was a relative of Frank Kirkland. RM
