ralphjd Posted 15 April , 2021 Share Posted 15 April , 2021 Cannot find any trace, usual sites searched, of this soldier, report in the Rochdale Observer 15 9 1915 states he died of wounds in the Dardanelles 23 8 1915, leaving a wife and three children. Can anyone shed more light on this casualty ? please . Thanks Ralph.

The newspaper article spells the name as THRELFALL but states that he was 40 years of age - matches the man you have found. It doesn't state his initials or given names. The 1911 Census shows him living near Oldham with a wife and three daughters, also shows that he was born in Congleton -- these facts match up with the newspaper article.
