Polar Bear Posted 13 April , 2021 Share Posted 13 April , 2021 Yesterday while researching something else I stumbled on to a medal roll that suggested that an Annie E Stait of the Queen Alexandras Imperial Medical Nursing Service was considered for (but rejected) for medals. As I have a great, great aunt by that name who in civilian life (both pre and post war) was a nurse you can understand my excitement. However unlike a soldier I have no knowledge of how to research a nurse. Were their records destroyed in the second world war? I'm guessing so but I don't even know the answer to that basic question! If they weren't where are they now? Are they accessible? Any help would be most appreciated as I head down another fascinating rabbit hole. travers61 Posted 13 April , 2021 Share Posted 13 April , 2021 (edited) There is an entry in the UK Nursing Register on ancestry for Annie Eliza Stait of Birmingham. Have you seen this ? Edited 13 April , 2021 by travers61

Have you seen this ? I have not but I will be looking at it for she was indeed from Birmingham. Indeed I have an address (1922 from memory) for her from another source and that is her middle name. Many thanks, P
