BillyH Posted 10 April , 2021 Share Posted 10 April , 2021 This is a clip from the 1939 Register showing the occupation of a WW1 soldier. It says "Quasi ??? Prison Officer" Looks like "perpanent" but maybe it is intended to be "permanent". Either way it doesn't make sense! Can anyone suggest anything else please? BillyH. Stebie9173 Posted 10 April , 2021 Share Posted 10 April , 2021 Hansard mentions quasi-permanent prison officers in 1936 so they were a thing. https://hansard.parliament.uk/Commons/1936-05-14/debates/92d0a266-69c7-467c-8f20-feff9b2bbae7/PrisonOfficers(Pay) Steve.
