Americans with Belgian Croix de Guerre

Does anyone know if there is a particular database or newspaper that would have reported American recipients of the Belgian Croix de Guerre? The American VA tends to not keep track of foreign decorations other than the medal's ID number and receiving country.

Unfortunately there is no database of foreign recipients of the Belgian Croix de Guerre (War Cross).

If you have a name, a serach could be tried in the Official Bulletin, but the outcome is not sure (no digitalised access).

If you know the name you could try searching the Library of Congress's newspaper archive: https://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/

Obviously, this method is fairly hit-or-miss and won't give you a comprehensive list of recipients.
