I know there's a thread somewhere out there that I started with the same name but I can't find it. Apologies.

I am trying to find out  two things about Maurice Garrett; the first is his profession, which I cannot decipher on his attestation form (attached, other than it says machinery [something] and shipper; the second is his date of arrival in France, which doesn't seem to be recorded on his medal card (also attached).

Thanks to the National Archives for both documents.Medal Card for Maurice Garrett.pdf

It looks like “Machinery buyer + shipper” as his occupation.

Thanks Toontraveller. Underneath and crossed out, it looks like Commercial Clerk. Maybe he felt that that under-rated his position.
