Sgt Ivor John Jackson 13697 'E' Section, RAF Depot, Blandford

Recommended Posts

Can anyone help provide some more information on this soldier/airman buried in a local cemetery, along with another from the same camp who also died of pneumonia,  along with many others https://api.parliament.uk/historic-hansard/commons/1918/nov/06/blandford-camp

When he died 2/3/19 of pneumonia he was a Sgt fitter (Aero Engine) in 'E' section, RAF Depot in Blandford.

So far I'm coming up blank in trying to identify his RFC number and/or any previous unit.

Any thoughts?

His RAF record card is available via Ancestry on Fold3 and has quite a bit of detail. You need to get a copy as it gives a lot of information. Looks like he was previously in 2/3rd Monmouthshire Regiment.

Thanks both. My typo on his number.  Will look into it.

A bit more background - I'm a volunteer with the CWGC and he's in one of the cemeteries I look after.  I also give talks on behalf of the CWGC (Kantor speakers programme) and trying to get as much information on the servicemen 'under my care' to keep their memories alive.
